There is so much I can say about Third Time’s The Charm by Gio Peters but I like to avoid spoilers where I can, what I will say is there’s twists you really won’t see coming and you’ll end up starting a chapter and shouting WHAT!!!!

Third Time’s The Charm Book Review

Third Time’s The Charm by Gio Peters has an immersive and complex plot that isn’t for the faint hearted that’s for sure. You have charachters to keep up with, terminolgoy that could come across as jargon to some and a lot to take in that’s for sure.

One of the things I really like about Third Times The Charm was how well the characters were written and how they come across. They come across as sincere, their anxiety, stubborness and fight for survival come through as authentic and not in some weird carnooish way, as do the villains which can be a pitfall that some writers fall into.

The spice element is low, I’d say a 1/5 at best compared to some of the books that I’ve read but not so PG that younger people can dive in and read. I’d also point out that there are some trigger warnings to take into account such as suicide , bullying and blood which might be worth taking into consideration before reading.

Ultimately, a great book that I really enjoyed. I found the magical fight scenes to be out of this world, so very well written and I’ve read loads that just miss the mark but Gio seems to excel in these areas and I can’t wait to read more of his work.
