About The Author

Do you prefer e-books, physical books or audiobook?

I prefer ebooks because I find it easy to read on the go and I have a small e-reader that I love but lately I’ve been getting back into physical books, especially paperbacks, because I’m enjoying being able to completely unplug.

Is writing your full-time profession or a hobby?

I wouldn’t call it a hobby but it’s not my full-time job. I’m actually self-employed and run my own book editing business so I tend to think of my writing/author time more like an unpaid internship. It’s freeing having some agency to choose when I can write but like most self-employed people my business has very busy peak times that don’t allow me much time to write sometimes.

What social media platform do you like and use the most?

I’m fairly active on Instagram but I’ve been having a lot of fun on Threads for my more chaotic thoughts.. Links to my socials:

Your Writing Process

How do you go about starting a new novel?

I’d consider myself of a planner and pantser. While I do plot a little bit and have a general idea of what the key plot points are, I generally let my characters guide me along the way.

Where do you like to write?

I like to write at home in bed but I do find myself being fairly productive when I make it to a café to write with a friend!

What do you find stops you from writing more?

Real life obligations always keep me busy, but I find that the break between writing can sometimes make me more motivated to get back into it.

What genres do you like to write and why?

I write cozy romance and I love doing so. I particularly enjoy writing queer love stores where the character’s identities aren’t a source of angst. It’s really important to me to be able to do that.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring writers?

My #1 piece of advice is to write the book you will want to read because you will have to read it at least twenty times throughout the publication phase!

Showcase Your Book!

How many books have you written and if more than one, what’s your favourite?

I have two books formally announced (Lavender Love Songs and Impossible Match) but I’ve written so many more, and written a lot of novellas/short stories! It’s hard for me to choose a favourite because my stories all mean different things to me but I am most proud of Lavender Love Songs right now because it’s a compilation of 3 of my novellas, and I can’t believe I have enough words to make a whole book!

How long did Impossible Match take you to write?

It took me almost a year from concept to publication which is quite long for my books. I had the idea for this book sometime last summer and while the writing happened quickly, there was a lot of in-between with editing and preparing for publication. I’m also releasing the book in serialized chapters on Patreon so that plays a factor as well.

Lastly, what is your favourite thing about being an author?

My favourite thing about being an author is connecting with readers who say my book resonates with them in some way. There’s no greater joy than to know that someone out there read my book and enjoyed it.
