Zombie Apocalypse (2011)

Months after a zombie plague has wiped out 90 percent of the American population, a small group of survivors fight their way cross-country to a rumoured refuge on the island of Catalina.

Low budget, mediocre acting and yet you can’t help but keep watching. The plot is thin, the zombies are everywhere and It’s worth giving a shot if you’re running out of zombie films to watch! Rated a solid 3 stars across the board from myself and many other viewers. It has a slow start but gets a lot better so hang in there.

You can watch it for free right now on Amazon Prime or buy your own copy of Zombie Apocalypse on DVD.

Dead Again (2021)

A Virus is loose. In rural village where crime is non existent, a police sergeant is retiring out of boredom. He is sent a young recruit fresh out of police School. All hell is about to break loose in this apocalyptic horror film.

Weird Shawn Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and mad chaotic vibes.

This is available on Amazon Prime.

The Elixir

An elixir unleashes the undead in a village. A family at odds with one another must unite and fight to survive as their hometown collapses.

It might be dubbed but it’s worth a watch. Although it is a zombie film it’s also got an element of comedy that I found although others would disagree.

You can watch The Elixir on Netflix with a standard subscription.

Dead Meat

Dead Meat (2004) is an Irish horror film directed by Conor McMahon where a mutated strain of mad cow disease infects the rural Irish countryside, transforming people into ravenous, flesh-eating zombies.

I’m not sure if this was scary or comical but it counts as a zombie film that you’ve probably never heard of, there are some jump scares though.

Unfortunately the film is very difficult to find, there are copies to purchase and it is available on YouTube.

Outside

Outside (2024) is a Philippine psychological horror-drama on Netflix about a family of four—Francis, Iris, and their sons—who escape a zombie outbreak by retreating to Francis’s isolated childhood farmhouse.

This film scared the shit out of me at the start, what’s with a Zombie shouting sorry at you while trying to eat you! It’s a decent film if you fancy watching something you’ve never seen before. It focuses more on the family and less on the zombies, oh and the dad is a POS.

You can find it on Netflix with a subscription.

#Alive

#Alive is a 2020 South Korean zombie horror film directed by Cho Il-hyung, available on Netflix. The film follows a video game live streamer, Joon-woo (Yoo Ah-in), struggling to survive alone in his apartment complex during a sudden citywide zombie apocalypse, later teaming up with another survivor, Yoo-bin (Park Shin-hye).

It’s dubbed but it’s really good. The zombies are present unlike some of the films on this list and it shows what it’s like when you’re alone in a zombie apocalypse and how crazy some people can be. It’s well worth the watch.

You can find it on Netflix with a subscription.

Amityville Uprising

Civilians fight to survive when a chemical explosion in a military base resulting in a strange acid rain creates a zombie outbreak in Amityville.

If you love bad acting, weak story lines and total chaos then this is for you. The special effects aren’t all that special, the acting is sub par but honestly, it’s one of them films you love to hate and worth the watch.

It’s currently on Amazon Prime for free with a subscription.

Badland Hunters

After a major earthquake, Seoul, South Korea, transforms into an apocalyptic wasteland where everything from civilisation to law and order has collapsed.

Actioned packed with a pretty good plot that has twists and turns that you won’t see coming! A different kind of zombie film. If you can manage with dubbed films then you’re going to really enjoy this feature.

You can watch it on Netflix with a standard subscription.
