Zombie Series You Won’t Want To Miss

Zombie TV has exploded in popularity, delivering gripping stories that go far beyond simple survival horror. From intense apocalyptic dramas to dark comedies and fresh international hits, the genre offers something for every kind of viewer. In this post, we’ll explore the zombie series you won’t want to miss—perfect for your next binge, packed with unforgettable characters, shocking twists, and relentless undead action.

You probably haven’t heard of some of these series like I hadn’t and that’s what makes them so cool. You have the series films such as Resident Evil but we’re focusing on series that you can enjoy episode by episode.

Black Summer

Black Summer is a gritty, intense Netflix zombie series (2019–2021) focusing on the early, chaotic days of a pandemic. Created by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams, it follows a mother (Jaime King) searching for her daughter alongside refugees. It is a stand alone, darker prequel series to Z Nation.

Black Summer has some mixed reviews and it’s just like Netflix to cancel a Netflix original series that has true potential. It does have a slow start but once you get into it it’s worth watching. Zombies do seem to be second and the plot around the characters comes first but it’s still a great Zombie series to sink your teeth into.

You can find it on Netflix as it’s a Netflix original series.

Resident Evil: Welcome To Racoon City

Claire and her brother Chris get caught in a zombie outbreak in the dying Raccoon City. They must band together with others to survive and uncover the truth about the experiments held in the city.

You might be thinking that Resident Evil is a film series but they do actually have a series as well which features Tom Hopper one of my favourite actors. It was of course not renewed for a second series although I feel that the first series ended in a way that a second series wasn’t needed.

You can watch the Resident Evil series on Netflix with a subscription, it can also be found on Amazon Prime with a subscription for a limited time.

Resident Evil

Years after a viral outbreak caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker vows to bring down those responsible while fighting to survive against the Infected.

You can find this on Netflix. Although I did enjoy the series I can see why they didn’t renew it for a second series. It was fast paced but the switch from present to past was at times a pain to keep up with and there was an all round lack of zombies which you wouldn’t expect from a Resident Evil series.

Resident Evil Infinite Darkness

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is a four-episode 3DCG animated miniseries released on Netflix on July 8, 2021. Set in 2006, it follows Resident Evil 2 protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they uncover a conspiracy involving a White House zombie outbreak. The series is considered canon, bridging events between Resident Evil 4 and 5.

It was like watching cut scenes from a video game, which was kind of cool as it is based on the resident evil games. It’ll probably make sense if you’ve played the games but it’s worth watching if you love the Resident Evil franchise.

You can find it on Netflix with a subscription.

Reality Z

As zombies attack Rio de Janeiro, reality TV show contestants hunker down in a TV studio where they must deal with more than flesh-eating hordes.

When reality TV meets zombies and I have to say, it’s a lot of fun. It’s dubbed so make sure you take that in mind. It’s fun to watch and the zombies are so realistic! I was expecting it to be badly made and really cheesy but it was actually well worth the read and highly recommended.

You can watch it on Netflix with a subscription.

Zomvivor

As an unknown virus spreads throughout the city, transforming the population into zombies, a group of students take refuge in a school to defend themselves.

I really enjoyed this series, you have to focus on the subtitles as it’s not in English although it had a great plot and was full of action and twists. I am gutted that it doesn’t look like they’re making a second series though but it’s well worth a look.

Available on Netflix with a standard subscription.
