About The Author
Tell us more about you.
I’m a trans-masc, nonbinary ghoul. Sometimes a potato. I’m more of a pet person than a people person, even going so far as building and designing my own koi pond.
What are the three items you’d take on a deserted island?
Solar powered battery recharger, phone, and a knife.
Who is your biggest role model?
My Sulcata Tortoise named Lil’Bro.
What is your favourite book and who is your favourite author?
My favorite book is Castles by Alan Lee and David Day. My favorite author is Robin Hobb.
Do you prefer e-books, physical books or audiobook?
Physical books. I enjoy being able to place them on shelves after reading like mini trophies, something I can look at occasionally to remember the mini mental journey the stories put me through.
Is writing your full-time profession or a hobby?
I see it as a profession that I hope will become sustainable full-time. I’m also a 24-Hour Caregiver.
What social media platform do you like and use the most?
I’m not really a fan of any social media, though am most active on Threads. Links to my socials:
Your Writing Process
How do you go about starting a new novel?
I do plan, keeping a board that I pin notes to next to my desk. The first thing I do is think of the ending, key points and scenes, then let creativity and coffee handle the rest. Research into various subjects is never-ending.
Where do you like to write?
I prefer to write at home, in a room that’s an office/gym combo.
What do you like most about writing?
I never get tired of being able to visualize and then construct entire made-up worlds and characters, bringing them to “life” for others via text.
What do you find stops you from writing more?
The need to eat and sleep.
What genres do you like to write and why?
I like to write horror, though not pure horror. For me to fully enjoy the writing process, the horror has to be mixed with fantasy, science fiction, or even romance.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring writers?
Finish that first rough draft. Don’t care about how pretty the prose is as you write, you can always go back and fine-tune all of that once the story is out of your head.
Showcase Your Book!
How many books have you written and if more than one, what’s your favourite?
My debut, Twisted Souls: The Shattered Mirror Saga, is a grimdark, epic fantasy with MM romance that came out last year. It’s inspired by Norse and Celtic mythology. The sequel, By a Thread, is also being published by Dead Fox Publishing this October. I’m currently working on the third book to this series. There’s a couple short stories floating around that I’ve been looking for a home for as well.
How long did Twisted Souls take you to write?
Less than a year.
Lastly, what is your favourite thing about being an author?
I’m aware I said earlier I’m not a people person, but… I really enjoy seeing people who read my work become so inspired as to produce art based off of it.
