About The Author
Tell us more about you
My name is Delilah. I’m a born and raised Floridian. Even though I’m a fifteen-minute drive from the beach, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been there.
What are the three items you’d take on a deserted island?
Of course, it would be a machete, a tarp, and antibiotics. Survival first.
Who is your biggest role model?
Either my mother or Steve Erwin.
What is your favourite book and who is your favourite author?
If short stories count, 1408 by Stephen King, and my favourite ‘author’ is Erin Hunter.
Do you prefer e-books, physical books or audiobooks?
E-book.
Is writing your full-time profession or a hobby?
Writing is definitely a hobby for me. If I was a full-time writer, it would become a job that I needed to stress about being successful. At that point, I wouldn’t want to do it anymore.
What social media platform do you like and use the most?
I only really use 2 platforms. My social channels are:
Your Writing Process
How do you go about starting a new novel?
I’m more of a planner. Even if I don’t have every beat of the story, I still know how each book will begin and end, at the bare minimum.
Where do you like to write?
As of late, I have been writing at home. But I do write while I’m at work as well, during down times.
What do you like most about writing?
Telling stories mostly. I’m a reserved person, I’m not very expressive, but with writing and learning more about how I can transfer those emotions to make people feel as strongly as I do.
What do you find stops you from writing more?
Overthinking, overanalysing, consideration, and overwhelm.
What genres do you like to write and why?
I am a dark fantasy author. All my series fall within this genre. The reason I wrote within this genre is this is a perfect genre to delve into to bile of humanity while also showing the glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. And that’s what I think the world needs, especially right now. And with it being fantasy, I can stretch the limitations of what’s physically natural.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring writers?
Not everyone will understand you. You can pour your soul into something and you can still get negativity, but sometimes the negativity is just because they are not ready to hear your message. Be kind to yourself.

Showcase your books!
How many books have you written and if more than one, what’s your favourite?
I’ve written three books to date. My favourite book out of them has to be my second book, Thrones of Affairs
How long did Thrones of Affairs take to write?
Thrones of Affairs took me about 5 to 6 months of writing every day to complete the manuscript.
Lastly, what is your favourite thing about being an author?
My intention of being an author is to help people see aspects of humanity that they may have been blinded to. A ‘bad’ person whose hurt people can still do a good thing (even if it’s for selfish reasons). A ‘good’ person who never wanted to cause harm can hurt so many because they thought it was the right thing to do. The world is not black and white. We all live within the gray space. And my favorite thing about writing is pulling apart and revealing that through my writing.
