Q&A with Brooke Luther – Author Interview

Brooke Luther delivers a chilling and imaginative voice in the horror genre, crafting stories that tap into some of our deepest fears. In Killer Kidz, she transforms a quiet mountain town into a nightmare scenario, where children are no longer safe to love, or even recognise. With a gripping premise centred on a mysterious disease that turns under-18s into flesh-craving monsters, Brooke explores the terrifying emotional weight placed on families forced to make unthinkable choices. Her storytelling balances fast-paced tension with a raw, human edge that keeps readers hooked.

In this Q&A, Brooke shares the inspiration behind Killer Kidz, her approach to building suspense, and how she navigates writing such intense, morally complex situations. From the eerie setting of Royal, Colorado to the looming uncertainty of a cure at the Colorado Science Institute, her insights reveal the thought and creativity behind a story that’s as emotionally unsettling as it is thrilling.
