About The Author
Tell us more about you.
Hm, fun fact, eh? Well, I can speak Italian because I dated an Italian man for six months and wanted to get to know him better. Also, if I have a daughter, I’ll probably call her Zoe or Evergreen.
What are the three items you’d take on a deserted island?
- A water purifier
- A knife
- A satellite phone
Who is your biggest role model?
My grandmother – she owned a business that got blown up during the war, worked two jobs, raised 5 kids back in the 1940s, she is my hero.
What is your favourite book and who is your favourite author?
George Orwell and 1984 – the man had a point.
Do you prefer e-books, physical books or audiobook?
Physical books because I like having something tangible.
Is writing your full-time profession or a hobby?
Full-time profession. I live to write, and writing lives in every corner of reality.
What social media platform do you like and use the most?
Instagram and Threads. Instagram because I can post about my work and interviews. Threads because I’m nosy and like to inject my opinion sometimes.
Your Writing Process
How do you go about starting a new novel?
The idea comes to me, and I jump right in. I’ve tried planning, which helps with the details like word count, but when you get down to each paragraph, you must use your intuition in order to get things flowing.
Where do you like to write?
At home, mainly, I need silence to concentrate. My mind tends to jump from one thing to the next, so I need a steady, silent vibe to do things properly.
What do you like most about writing?
It is an emotion catharsis for me. A release from the difficulties of life that can sometimes feel like a constant mountain with no end.
What do you find stops you from writing more?
Having caring responsibilities and having to help run a household. Basically, being an adult.
What genres do you like to write and why?
I love poetry because there are many avenues to explore creatively. For books specifically, I love writing fiction because I can tell stories without getting sued.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring writers?
Protect your mental health. Being crazy doesn’t make someone a genius or a fantastic author; it just makes them an unhappy one.

Showcase Your Book!
How many books have you written and if more than one, what’s your favourite?
Strangely, I’ve written one but have been featured in 8 or 9 collections for poetry. My favourite is A Suitcase To South Korea since it’s my baby.
How long did A Suitcase to South Korea take you to write?
Three years because I had depression during that time.
Lastly, what is your favourite thing about being an author?
The good that I can do. I work with Greenpeace and other organisations, but I feel like my writing is what makes the most of an impact.
