About The Author

Tell us more about you.

I was born and raised in France, but I travelled and lived all over before realising there’s no place like home – and coming back.

What are the three items you’d take on a deserted island?

SPF 50, the complete works of Émile Zola, and a notebook that never runs out of pages.

Who is your biggest role model?

My mom—she taught me everything I know about survival and softness. Also, all the women who fought to become authors, no matter what it cost them.

What is your favourite book and who is your favourite author?

My favourite book is Swallowing Geography by Deborah Levy. My favourite author? Sally Rooney, for her prose, her politics, and the way she conjugates both so beautifully.

Do you prefer e-books, physical books or audiobook?

I will always reach for old, beaten-up, dog-eared and underlined physical books.

Is writing your full-time profession or a hobby?

A bit of both—I’m a translator by trade, and I write for myself by night (and early morning, and weekends, and whenever I just can’t help it).

What social media platform do you like and use the most?

I’m not a huge social media person, but you can find me on:

Your Writing Process

How do you go about starting a new novel?

I’m a planner, and probably always will be. I like to map things out before I dive in—even if the final book ends up looking nothing like the plan.

Where do you like to write?

Everywhere, elsewhere. I’ve written while travelling, in cafés, at friends’ kitchen tables. But I have a soft spot for public libraries. No matter the country, they always have the same feeling about them.

What do you like most about writing?

The constant reinvention. Every sentence is a new opportunity to find the right words to touch someone.

What do you find stops you from writing more?

Living! I learned the hard way that you can’t always be stuck in your books, you’ve got to go out and gather the stories too.

What genres do you like to write and why?

I write contemporary fiction and romance, focusing on queer stories and themes revolving around mental health, family, and community. I love trying to find poetry in the mundane and turn what I’m familiar with into something extraordinary.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring writers?

Just write. One word at a time, even if it’s bad. Fall forward rather than stay still.

Showcase Your Book!

How many books have you written and if more than one, what’s your favourite?

Just the one—for now. To the End of the Line is my debut: personal, messy, and written with a lot of heart, it’s a queer love story full of complicated feelings and found family.

How long did To the End of the Line take you to write?

Almost two years from spark to final draft—I have a tendency to start a million things at once, but thankfully, I finished this one.

Lastly, what is your favourite thing about being an author?

My characters. Getting to tell their stories, and then handing those stories over to readers, especially the ones who show up for indie authors, is the best kind of magic.
