About The Author
Tell us more about you.
I ran cross country in high school. I was very slow finished last all the time, but it instilled a love of running and over the years I have run lots of 5ks, 10ks, a few half-marathons and three Chicago Marathons.
What are the three items you’d take on a deserted island?
I would be very practical if I was on a deserted island. I’d bring salt, fireproof matches, and a book on how to survive on a deserted island.
Who is your biggest role model?
My grandmother.
What is your favourite book and who is your favourite author?
Ack! Very hard to say! I love everything Ilona Andrews publishes.
Do you prefer e-books, physical books or audiobook?
All of the above! I need options to tackle my very, very long TBR.
Is writing your full-time profession or a hobby?
I have a day job. I work as a Special Education Paraprofessional. I love my job.
What social media platform do you like and use the most?
The reader and author groups on Facebook are so supportive that is where I spend most of my time. After that, Instagram. Links to my socials:
Your Writing Process
How do you go about starting a new novel?
I think about it, get a general idea of the characters and the plot and then I do a brainstorming session.
Where do you like to write?
Typically at my desk. I have a big walk-in closet with a window, that is my ‘office’ I aspire to write in cafes—but haven’t managed it yet.
What do you like most about writing?
Creating characters and a setting that I love.
What do you find stops you from writing more?
The distractions of life.
What genres do you like to write and why?
I like romance, cozy mysteries, and thrillers. They all give the reader very satisfying endings.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring writers?
This is something author Shannyn Schroeder says: “Finish the damn book.”
