Snowed In At Christmas Cottage Book Review By Ali Ryecart
This has to be in the top 10 of my favourite gay Christmas books, it’s so good I ended up finishing it in two days which is very unlike me especially as it’s not a novella! If you like enemies to lovers, forced proximity and lots of snow then this is for you.
Snowed In At Christmas Cottage is full of laughs, chills, sexual tension and a lot of emotion. I cried, like a lot and I highly recommend this book! It’s so well written and makes you want to keep reading until you get to the end and you’re annoyed you’ve finished it.
Spoilers as always are in italics so if you haven’t read the book don’t spoil it for yourself!

Snowed In At Christmas Cottage Book Synopsis
Two strangers, one snowy cottage, and a blizzard that changes everything.
William retreats to the quiet isolation of a remote cottage, hoping to shield his fractured heart from the world. Grieving a life he no longer recognises, he’s not ready for any disruptions—let alone the chaos about to walk through the door.
Kyle, seeking escape from the festive season, arrives in the dead of night expecting solitude. What he gets instead is an encounter with a half-naked, irate man who’s clearly not thrilled to share the space.
Both have valid reservations for the cottage. Both are determined to stay. But as the storm intensifies, so does their predicament. With no way to leave, they’re forced into a reluctant truce that quickly turns into something far more unexpected.
William’s reserved and guarded nature clashes spectacularly with Kyle’s brash confidence, sparking an icy standoff. Yet, as the snow piles up outside, the walls between them begin to melt. Stolen moments exploring a winter wonderland and cozy evenings by the fire kindle a warmth neither expected.
But William’s grief still looms, and Kyle’s charm may not be enough to break through. Can William confront the pain holding him back and find the courage to open his heart? Or will the chance for love melt away with the snow?
Snowed In At Christmas Cottage Overall Rating – 4.75/5
This has to be one of the highest rated Christmas books that I’ve read. If you’re looking for an epic gay Christmas book which is an easy read and flows with ease then Snowed In At Christmas Cottage has to be one that you read during your festive celebrations.
Let me know what you thought about this book? Was I too harsh, too nice or spot on with my rating.
Snowed In At Christmas Cottage Plot – 4.5
The plot was easy to follow, a great read for dyslexics and I didn’t really find any plot holes which was great. It was a perfect read that had you wanting to read more and that’s why I finished it so fast. There were a few cliche moments throughout but although some were a little on the nose I found them to mostly add to the quality of the writing where they were done well.
Snowed In At Christmas Cottage Carachters – 5
The Snowed In At Christmas Cottage didn’t really have many characters other than William and Kyle although you can’t forget Lord Orangecock! That made it really easy to follow them all, it made it easy to build up a really strong visual of the pair and made you fall in love with them even more!
Snowed In At Christmas Cottage Emotional Rating – 5
OH MY GOD THE EMOTION! I was in tears for the last few chapters I had to put the book down at one point and I was travelling so I couldn’t even cuddle my husband for emotional support. I was cheering at parts, shouting at them in other parts and did I mention crying a lot? This has to be one of the best books for emotion and it was done with such easy that you found yourself caught up in it before you even noticed! Ali did an amazing job!
Snowed In At Christmas Cottage Ending – 4.5
Great ending. I find endings to be very hit-and-miss which is a shame but I loved this ending. It was full of happy tears and big smiles. The only thing I would have liked was a longer epilogue as I wanted it to be wrapped up with perfection but honestly, one of the best endings and it’s a testament to Ali’s writing.
Snowed In At Christmas Cottage Spice – 3.5
I don’t include spice in the overall rating because some books have it and others done and Snowed In At Christmas Cottage by Ali Ryecart had spice but it wasn’t full on smut which is why I’ve given it a 3.5 stars. It starts out very suggestive to begin with, gets a little heated later on and flows with ease and consistency.
