Cake & Cocktails Book Review by A.D. Ellis
After reading Peaches & Cream I couldn’t wait for this book. I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait long because honestly, it was amazing! I even think it was better than Peaches and Cream and I loved Henry and Jack so much it’s unreal!
The whole book was exceptional and I couldn’t put it down.
Cake & Cocktails Synopsis
Henry knows he’s a bit of a grump. Outside of running the Riggs Family Roadhouse and a handful of close friends and family, he doesn’t need much—or anyone—in his life. But when a mysterious young man walks into his bar, Henry finds himself unable to ignore the urge to ensure the blue-eyed stranger is safe and cared for.
Jack fled a nightmarish home life with little more than a vague plan to escape. Five hundred miles later, he stumbles into the small town of Haven Grove, where a fresh start feels possible. Especially when the burly bartender keeps offering him warm meals, gentle kindness, and smiles that make him want to stay.
Henry only wants to help Jack find his footing, but his heart seems to have other plans. As Jack begins to imagine a future in Haven Grove, he wonders if he and Henry have what it takes to create their own perfect recipe for love.

Cake & Cocktails Book Review by A.D. Ellis
Cake a Cocktails is one of my favourite A.D. Ellis books, even better than Peaches & Cream and I want everyone to give it a read. Hopefully this review will help you make up your mind and get your own copy.
Cake & Cocktails Rating – 4.74/5
The high rating reflects how much I loved this book and how much I want others to read it as well. It’s a story for the heart and soul. The spice is amazing but second place to the incredible story. Let me know what you think about the book and my rating.
Cake & Cocktails Plot Rating – 5
The plot was amazing. No plot holes, no unanswered questions and a lot of suspense and thrilling chapters that made me keep reading. It’s easy to follow, nothing too difficult to wrap your head around and dyslexic friendly. It was a breath of fresh air and such an amazing read.
Cake & Cocktails Character Rating – 5
HENRY AND JACK WERE AMAZING!! Honestly, when I read Peaches & Cream I wanted to know more about Henry and honestly this book gave me everything I wanted and more. Not to mention Jack was such a cutie and the family all rallied around him.
Two words. Bubble Bees.
Cake & Cocktails Emotion Rating – 5
I cried, I sat on the edge of my seat needing to know more. I couldn’t put it down, I was gripped. The spice was amazing, the emotions had my heart in a vice and I cried during the last few chapters and needed extra biscuits. If you’re looking for a book with a happy ending, a shit ton of suspense and a lot of drama, read Cake & Cocktails!
Cake & Cocktails Ending Rating – 4
I loved the ending, however, it was another cliffhanger and now I have to wait for the next book which features Henry and Hudson’s dad, and after I’ve seen him grow in the previous books in the series, I am being very impatient in my waiting.
Cake & Cocktails Spice Level – 4
The spice was out of this world, why? I had to wait. The relationship was built on trust, support and love instead of lust and sex. Don’t get me wrong, the spice was really good, it was everything you want in these types of books but it didn’t take centre stage in Henry’s and Jack’s relationship and that I respected.
