Judas Kiss Film Review – Gay Film Review
Judas Kiss was one of the films that I watched years ago when I was a teenager and now I’m 31 and I decided to watch it again. I’m pretty sure that I have the same thoughts now, that I did then. However, my opinion of Brent Corrigan has changed slightly if you catch my drift.
Take a look at what I thought about Judas Kiss below and if you’ve watched it I’d love to know what you thought! Any spoilers will be marked in italics.
Judas Kiss Film Synopsis
udas Kiss is a uniquely captivating gay feature that skilfully weaves elements of fantasy and reality into an engaging narrative. The story centres on Zachary, a film festival judge whose world is turned upside down after a passionate one-night stand with a stranger. To his shock, the handsome stranger is Danny, a student competing for a prestigious scholarship that Zach must decide upon.
Zach, a once-promising filmmaker now grappling with his own failures, begins to notice striking parallels between his life and Danny’s. He realises Danny is on the verge of making the same mistakes Zach once did—starting with choosing the wealthy but shallow Shane over Chris, the man who truly loves him. Determined to set things right, Zach takes it upon himself to guide Danny down a better path, hoping to redeem not only the young man’s future but also his own shattered past.
Featuring a standout cast including Charlie David (Dante’s Cove, Mulligans), Brent Corrigan (Another Gay Sequel, The Big Gay Musical), and Richard Harmon (The Killing), Judas Kiss delivers a richly layered, thought-provoking drama. With its award-winning storytelling and intelligent exploration of themes like second chances, personal growth, and the impact of our choices, the film stands out as a fresh and entertaining addition to LGBTQ cinema.
From its compelling character dynamics to its seamless blend of fantastical elements with real-world struggles, Judas Kiss offers viewers an emotionally resonant journey that is as insightful as it is entertaining.
Judas Kiss Film Rating – 4/5
Judas Kiss is one of those films where you have no idea what you’re in store for. The acting is kind of cringe-worthy at times, yet you can’t look away from the screen! However, all that considered, I really enjoyed the film, and it’s one of the best gay films that I’ve seen so far, but I have so many more to watch!
What do you think about my review? Do you think I was too harsh? Too nice? or just right?
Judas Kiss Plot – 4
The plot was a little all over the place and there were a few plot holes in my opinion. However, although it’s a little complicated and confusing at times it’s weirdly easy to follow and quite enjoyable. I’m not going to say it was amazing but it did have me hooked the first time I watched it years ago and again this time.
The plot is filmed with angst, past trouble and messy relationships. Although the whole sleeping with yourself thing was a little weird not to mention the time travelling aspect of it all.
Judas Kiss Acting – 4
The acting. I feel like this is one of them films that has some cringe acting but it’s still really good and you can’t look away, it’s a weird way of explaining it but at the same time it’s worth giving a watch.
Now I have seen Bent Corrigan in many.. films. However, this is the only acting film I’ve seen him in and actually, he’s pretty decent so if you’re a Brent fan, give it a watch.
