About The Author

Tell us more about you

Well, I was born and raised in Brazil, but I live in Japan now with my husband’s family. Also, I love pink, but purple is also a fav to me.

What are the three items you’d take on a deserted island?

My wedding ring, a knife and a box of painkillers probably hahahaha.

Who is your biggest role model?

This may sound clichè, but my dad is the person I look up on the most!

What is your favourite book and who is your favourite author?

Right now, as I think it changes from time to time, CS Pacat is my fav and their books are also my favs, both Captive Prince Series and the Dark Rise Series. As for a standalone book, it is Battle Royale by Takami Koushun.

Do you prefer e-books, physical books or audiobooks?

As I tend to listen do books while working, I’ve become an audiobook girly hahaha

Is writing your full-time profession or a hobby?

I’m still working at a factory here in Japan, but as soon as I release my novel, I expect to be able to slowly transition into a full time writer.

What social media platform do you like and use the most?

I really enjoy creating TikTok content, as it is a little more “easy going” than Instagram.

My social channels are:

Your Writing Process

How do you go about starting a new novel?

Well, I tend to have many many ideas per day, so I write it on a list I have and when it’s time to write something I choose the one that I’m more interested in.At first I was not very much into planing, to be honest, but as my next novel will require some more organized and deep ideas, I’m trying to balance my inspiration writing with some more well planned style.

Where do you like to write?

I like to write at my house, but I’m not very ritualistic when it comes to writing. I can do it anywhere, but at my house it’s the best! I like it to be quiet, tho… I also tend to listen to instrumental music, because if it has lyrics I can get a little confused.

What do you like most about writing?

I’m a curious person, and someone who likes to understand others. Because of that, I like the feeling of becoming friends with my characters. I like how I feel as if I’m getting to know new people, their loves, traumas, insecurities… and everything.

What do you find stops you from writing more?

I’m busy with work and sometimes, when I get home, I’m already SOOOO tired my mind just won’t work.

What genres do you like to write and why?

I’m a romance girly, I can write in any genre, but I gotta admit all my stories come to mind with a couple as the main reason to exist. At the moment, I just finished my first novel, which is a contemporary romance, but I’m starting a thriller very soon!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring writers?

Writing isn’t just “talent”, you won’t write the best novel known to humanity just by sitting in front of your computer. Study and LOVE your language, understand how it attaches to your culture and your feelings, learn how to use the words in your favour.

Showcase your books!

How many books have you written and if more than one, what’s your favourite?

I’ve finished many, many short stories but I only got to publish 3, which I see as my favs at the moment… I also finished writing and editing my first novel, and by now it’s my masterpiece. I’ve finished some fanfics in the past as well, but they were more like some “studying” pieces, and now I feel more like a pro writer.

How long did Play a Song For The Gays take to write?

The version I’m publishing soon took me 2 years, but if I think about it from the first time I wrote it, more than 10 years.

Lastly, what is your favourite thing about being an author?

Building a community. I love how I can make friends and talk about my art, befriend other authors and people who enjoy my work.
