Savage Rivals Synopsis

Asher Henderson—captain of the Highnam Academy football team and the constant thorn in my side. As Alstone High’s team captain, I’ve been locked in an intense rivalry with him from the very beginning. But our conflict extends far beyond the football pitch. Everyone knows we’re enemies, and from our very first encounter, the tension between us has only grown, escalating to a point where it feels like there’s no turning back. Our rivalry has always been fierce, a battle of wills that neither of us is willing to lose.

But then, one night changed everything. He pushed me too far, and we crossed a line that was never meant to be crossed. Now, I can’t stop thinking about him, no matter how hard I try. The lines between hate and something far more dangerous have blurred, leaving me questioning everything I thought I knew. Can we ever be more than rivals, or are there too many obstacles standing in our way? One thing is certain—whatever happens next, there’s no going back.

Savage Rivals Book Review

Want to know more about what I thought of Savage Rivals by Becca Steele? Take a look below at my thoughts on this book review so that you can see if it’s for you or not.

Savage Rivals Overall Rating – 4.87/5

You might have been able to tell but I really loved this book. I’d stopped reading for a bit to work on my own work and the first book back that I read was Savage Rivals and I’m so glad that I did.

What did you think about my rating? Do you think I was fair? Too nice or too harsh?

Savage Rivals Plot – 5

At no point did I feel that the plot was a bit meh. It had me gripped on every page and I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t find any plot holes. It was super easy to follow and yet some of the twists I didn’t even see coming! If you want an easy to read, smut filled, exciting and edgy MM book to read, this is it.

Savage Rivals characters – 4.5

Almost all of the characters were amazing. They were well detailed and they all added to the plot which you don’t always find in books. I will say there were a couple of characters that I wasn’t the biggest fan of which is why I gave it a 4.5 but overall, perfection.

Savage Rivals Emotion – 5

I didn’t actually cry! I know, instead I was filled with blind rage, I was PISSED off! There were moments that had me screaming some curse words at the book. Other times I was cheering, making aww sounds and just loving it. Savage Rivals really takes you through your paces when it comes to emotions and I for one, loved it.

Savage Rivals Ending – 5

The ending was spot on, I liked the jump into the future and it tied everything together really well. Endings are difficult to do but I feel Becca did it justice.

Savage Rivals Spice – 4

I don’t add spice into overall ratings because not all books have it but DAMN! This book was bursting, one word; cinema! The spice was spot on, it was true to life for LGBTQ+ guys which I find a lot of books don’t do and they romanticise it and make it too “easy”. That being said, it does fall into the “Prostate” territory, god I wish it was that easy to find!
