Fake Dates and Moon Cakes Book Review by Sher Lee
So I had this book picked for me through a video I did on TikTok, I couldn’t decide what to read and from now on I’m going to be asking TikTok to help me so if you’re not following me, follow me on TikTok!
This book blew my mind. It’s very slow burn but in a really good way that works throughout the entire book, some books are a bit meh and slow but this one was perfect. If you’ve followed me long enough you’ll know that I am an emotional reader and this one had me in floods of tears through the last 6 chapters so if you’re like me, grab a tissue!!

Fake Dates and Moon Cakes Book Review By Sher Lee
Honestly, there aren’t many books I gush over this much in a book review but Fake Dates and Moon Cakes is so good I can’t help it. Want to know what I thought about the various aspects of the book? Take a look below.
Fake Dates and Moon Cakes Rating – 4.6/5
I will say that I loved this book. However, my dyslexic brain had a hard time trying to figure out how to pronounce words and that’s probably why it took me longer to read it as I had to figure them out. I would love to know what you thought about the Fake Dates and Moon Cakes book review and the book if you’ve read it.
I got this as a Christmas present from my husband and I’m so glad he got me it because it’s one of them books that you can pick up time and time again and enjoy.
Fake Dates and Moon Cakes Plot – 5
Honestly, I didn’t really find anything wrong with the plot. It was well thought out, it flowed and I didn’t find any plot holes which is great and why I rated it highly. It was consistant throughout, there were no confusing parts and overall it’s a very well written and thought out plot so you won’t be there wondering what the hell is going on.
Fake Dates and Moon Cakes Characters – 4
Well, most of the characters I loved. I thought they well all really described and you could really build a picture in your head of who’s who. The problem with that is I didn’t think the picture that was painted looked like the guys on the front cover but that’s each to their own.
Some of the characters in Fake Dates and Moon Cakes I hated. Adrian, I hated and yet loved after he redeemed himself, Bernard. Equally though there were characters that I loved like Autie Jade and Terri. So it’s a, love hate relationship.
Fake Dates and Moon Cakes Emotion – 5
The emotion was packed tightly in Fake Dates and Moon Cakes and honestly I was there for it. There are moments in the book where I wanted to grab a character and shake them silly. There were parts where I got so angry I slammed the book shut and threw it on the sofa and I probably cried during the last 4/5 chapters as it was so well written and so darn emotional.
Fake Dates and Moon Cakes Ending – 4.5
I’ve said it time and time again, endings can be very hit or miss and I thinking mostly, Fake Dates and Moon Cakes came very close to having a hit. There were no unanswered questions which was nice to see. The only thing I would have liked to of seen was how much time had passed in the epilogue.
Fake Dates and Moon Cakes Spice Rating – 0
I don’t include spice in book review ratings and the Fake Dates and Moon Cakes book review is no exception to the rule. There was no spice in this book. Very, very light suggestive comments and the odd kiss here and there and that was pretty much it and I thought it worked like a charm.
