Regna Born Book Review By Erick Holmberg

I LOVED this book so bloody much that it’s unreal. I love Sci-Fi and to mash that together with MM slow-burn romance you really do have something special and this book is the perfect blend to have you on the edge of your seat and loving every second of it. That’s enough gushing, let’s start the review.

Spoilers will be marked in italics, I try and put minimal spoilers in as I don’t want to ruin it for people but that might be difficult to do with Regna Born!

Regna Born by Erick Holmberg Synopsis

Hidden within ordinary life, a secret society of telepaths, known as adepts, has safeguarded their existence for millennia. Their anonymity is threatened when Joe Martin, a brilliant scientist, maps their genome and prepares to publish it. Joe’s murder sets off a desperate race to recover the genetic map before it’s exposed.

Gabriel Kelly, an unassuming adept, teams up with his secretive best friend Sellers to uncover Joe’s killer and secure the map. With human detectives suspecting Gabriel and rival adepts vying for the map, Gabriel must navigate a dangerous web of lies and betrayal.

As tensions rise, Gabriel faces a pivotal choice: protect the secrecy of adept society or risk exposing their existence to the world, forever altering humanity’s future.

Regna Born Book Review

You may have gathered already that I am a HUGE fan of the Regna Born Book and you can take a look below why I think it’s so good. I’d love to know your thoughts so leave a comment or send me a message on socials with your thoughts!

Regna Born Book Rating – 4.75/5

This is one of my highest rated books for a reason. It was immersive, it hit all the right notes and it was fun to read and made me want to keep on reading even when I had other things that needed doing.

Let me know if you think I was too nice or too harsh? Maybe I was spot on and you totally agree with me. Either way, if you haven’t read Regna Born, you should!

Regna Born Plot – 5

So I will admit that at the start the plot was a little difficult to follow and that’s mainly because there was a large number of characters to keep up with and the plot is woven throughout the entire novel so in order for it to become clear you have to keep on reading. However, as everything started to unfold and the plot twists were more obvious it made for an amazing read.

It’s one of them plots where you can jump in and have fun. You want to keep on reading because you NEED to know what happens next and I will say for my dyslexic brain I found the plot and the writing easy to digest and there were only a few words I had a hard time with, the poison being one of them.

Regna Born characters – 5

WOAH! There were so many characters in Regna Born that are times I had to remind myself who they were. However, unlike other novels they all had their own persona, they were described with ease and it made you easily pick your favourites cough, Sellers, cough.

If you want a novel where the characters are easy to remember, likeable even when you hate them and so much fun then you have to give Regna Born by Erick Holmberg a read.

Regna Born Emotional Rating – 4

So I rated the emotion a 4. That’s because at times it was a little wordy and tell don’t show which in my opinion all authors do. However, that being said there was an epic scene towards the end of Regna Born and it was so epic I re-read it a few times. When yo man comes to your rescue that’s when it’s love!

Spoiler. Also, it was a very slow burn on the relationship side of it but honestly, I liked that and how it played out across the entire novel. It was super sweet and I hope to see more of their connection in the next instalment.

Regna Born Ending – 5

I hate endings with a passion, so why did I rate this one a 5? Well, I thought the ending was spot on, questions were wrapped up, plots were sealed and the cliff hanger was done beautifully. Some cliff hangers I’ve read in the past miss the mark but Erick did something few have achieved and kept me wanting to read the next instalment and not hating the ending of the first part.

Regna Born Spice Rating – 0

I don’t include spice in my overall rating and that’s because although some books have it, others don’t. You won’t find spice littered in the pages of Regna Born and I’m kind of glad. I didn’t think it needed spice, I loved the slow burn element that it had and I think spice may have just ruined that. I’m not opposed to a little light spice in the next instalment but for Regna Born it really didn’t need it.

See I can read books that aren’t full of spice and smut thank you very much!
