About The Author
Tell us more about you
I grew up in the West Midlands, in England. My favourite colour is yellow, and I play the drums.
What are the three items you’d take on a deserted island?
A pad, a pen and a pencil. Although, it’d have to be a pretty big pad! Writing and drawing are my things.
Who is your biggest role model?
Not sure about a role model but I’ve followed and been a fan of Gillian Anderson for years and years, ever since The X-Files so if anyone, I’d say her.
What is your favourite book and who is your favourite author?
Deception Point by Dan Brown – I love that book and John Grisham is the author I’ve read most. Love a good courtroom drama!
Do you prefer e-books, physical books or audiobooks?
Physical books. I have a big bookcase and I’m well on the way to filling it 😊
Is writing your full-time profession or a hobby?
No. By day, I’m a hypnotherapist. I do intend to write many more books, though.
What social media platform do you like and use the most?
I’m liking Threads right now. I wasn’t really big on social media until I published my book.

Your Writing Process
How do you go about starting a new novel?
I do start with a plan; usually the beginning and the ending/twists I have right away so I’ll get those down and all significant dialogue. Then I’ll think about certain chapters that need to happen to drive the narrative forward and jot down those. Generally, I’ll have pieces of scenes/chapters come to me that I’ll write and then I’ll organise it into an order within what I’ve already got. I do it all mostly in a notepad to start with.
Where do you like to write?
I’ve written at home and in various cafés. In the park sometimes because when the suns out so am I 😊 I’ll use a notepad in those cases and enjoy being outside. I finished The Judge, the Jailer and the Thief in a lovely restaurant not far from where I live. They let me use a table for days on end and I’m very grateful for that. In an armchair, right next to a log fire with wonderful food! Perfect 😊
What do you like most about writing?
Freedom. The ability to write anywhere at any time and the creative outlet is great. Being able to write down everything about a story or message that gathers in my head that other people can engage with and enjoy.
What do you find stops you from writing more?
It was myself, before. I got in my own way. Now I couldn’t be prouder that I’ve finally published my first book!
What genres do you like to write and why?
Thrillers, because they’re exciting and LGBTQ because I’m a lesbian and want to see more representation in stories where the main character is gay but that isn’t the main plot. My story is about a heist where the lead just so happens to be a lesbian, and I’d like to see that across more books and TV shows.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to aspiring writers?
Just write your book and don’t doubt yourself. Easier said than done I know but just do it anyway. Doubt is there to stop you and that comes from a fear of putting yourself out there which always happens when doing something new. Know that if you didn’t have it within you to achieve it, then there wouldn’t be so much doubt trying to keep you where you are. You are good enough and when obstacles come deal with them then, but don’t put them in your own way before you’ve started.

Showcase your books!
How many books have you written and if more than one, what’s your favourite?
The Judge, the Jailer and the Thief is my first book. It’s my favourite 😊
How long did The Judge, the Jailer and the Thief take you to write?
About three years.
Lastly, what is your favourite thing about being an author?
Freedom of creative expression. You can create worlds, people, situations, experiences, absolutely anything at all and see it come to life on the page in front of you and knowing that maybe other people are enjoying it too, escaping from their reality and stepping into yours is something else 😊 I also love engaging with readers as they’re reading my book. That’s happened a few times now and its so much fun!
